PARIS I LOVE YOU...
Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 4:21 AM
In paris right now and will upload more photos ltr.
Reaching paris i had to lug my bag all the way down to the subway station and let me tell u, the subway has NO aircon. So while i was sweating and puffing my way down, i felt so tired and jet lagged. Anyways my bag was super heavy!! All or most of the subways have no escalators but just stairs so my poor father was lugging the bag away up and down and i felt so sorry for him.
Today was really tiring cuz we were walking all over paris with our heavy luggage in tow. When we finally got to our room, we dumped our bags and immediately went walking all ard exploring Paris and the underground subway.
Ok, now i'm getting tired, I shall explain more when i've reached lyon.
Au revoir!
Waiting Game
Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 10:51 AM
Hi all! I'm in the dubai airport waiting for my connecting flight to paris.
SO far the flight has been like shit.
The seats were so close together, there was hardly any space to maneuver around, there was a crying AND screaming baby on board and throughout the 7hr journey i only slept for 1hr or less. You can imaging how i'm feeling right now....
I see quite a mix of people... but there are quite a few china people here too... :( Might be a good thing or a bad thing i don't know but whatever right??
Sigh, i just want to sleep on my old bed again.
RP... a colossal waste of time.
Sunday, September 27, 2009, 1:05 AM
Leaving soon and as i was checking through the websites for french universities i realized something really really important.
That the 3 yrs in RP was a complete waste of my time.
That shit sch taught me nothing but how to slack the entire time i was there. While i could be learning so much more overseas or doing something else with my life, i had to waste it in RP.
Granted my grades weren't good enough and true i ought to have thought my options through but honestly?? I really regret going to RP.
There you have it folks. My biggest regret.
Actually i had some fun times and without rp i would never have met awesome lizzy who throughout the 3 yrs there made my life sort of bearable. As for education wise?? SUCKED BALLS.
Some other things i regret in my life? Nahh.. that's about it.
But the one thing i will miss the most when i leave is the lifestyle i had here.
Shopping, eating at your convenience. No hassle. Singapore is small and safe while i'm going out to the big unknown....
Ok, so i'll be leaving on the 29th Sept 1a.m +++ and yes, Good bye singapore!! I'll really really miss you!!!!
F1 fever!
Friday, September 25, 2009, 10:49 PM
YAY! F1 is here and i didn't know it could be so exciting!! Hahaha, from my office window i can see clearly when the cars turn the junction. And the noise?? It was so loud. But it was even louder when they started using the real F1 cars. hohoho!!! Also while walking down to the bus stop i had to walk past the tracks and it was really really loud. Too bad they covered the walkway though... i would have loved to see the cars.
Anywhoo, i have a new cam and recently i've been bringing it ard to capture as many shots as i can before i leave singapore!! And on another note... IT WAS MY LAST DAY TODAY!!! Woohoo!!! Fantastic!! And to add a cherry on top more than half of the office ppl didn't come in today and most left after lunch. Of course there was the odd man out who came in late and had to spoil everything but other than that... today was a good day :D
And now... some pics!~

First pic ever taken with my camera!

Office view again!
Met up with denyse and melly at the airport! Me and denyse ate so much cuz we wanted to spend our money's worth.

This was AFTER dessert.

Roly poly bus buddies :D

When mel decided to join us.

Our halos

This shot was taken in the morning. I was wondering why it was raining so heavily and there was still a bright sunlight streaming through my window. That was before the clouds covered it though. This was also the day when i discovered they had closed off the bus routes and i had to stop at the NTUC income center and walk all the way to suntec. In the rain no less.

Thanks to Hardiana for treating me to this wonderful soup!! THE BEST!
Then later on went to Newton Hawker center to have supper with sheena! We ate so much our stomachs were abt to burst. Plus not forgetting the meal was quite expensive!! Stupid seafood costs so much!! They are out to cheat everyone with their prices.

Met up with jiaz.
And as promised the views of the cars racing!!!

Nice right?? I wish i could go...
The countdown
Thursday, September 24, 2009, 1:04 AM
Alrighty! I've got my passport, visa settled and now its time to pack.
The time to departure is getting closer and to be honest i really feel as though its a long way off like before. The urgency is not really getting to me but people are constantly giving me advice. So thanks to the whole lot out there esp my father who has been helping me through this difficult process.
Hopefully after i've managed to complete my french language studies there i'll be able to continue to study long term like get an masters or even an honors. I'm just happy to be studying there.
So as for right now, i've been v.v.v.v.v.v.busy preparing. People are telling me i need this and i need that... I tell them HOW TO BRING. My poor luggage will bust open if i put in all the things they want me to bring... So i have almost no time for much things cuz i'm working til this fri the 25th, then going out for lunch, dinner, til sun and on mon i'm leaving! Writing everything out puts things in perspective. I still need my medication, to pack! And i need to collect my altered clothes and some photos.... HEADACHE. Not forgetting the F1 is in town which means JAMS. Seriously shitty...
Today went to T3 to find smelly melly and we GOT CONNED. She said the corner got sockets to plug in the laptop but DON'T HAVE. SHE CONNED US!!!!! In the end went to the coffee bean to use the laptop and we chatted until 11++. Which explains why now i feel a giant urge to yawn. SLEEPY.
That's all for now and one more thing...
Fear not that this blog would turn into a french blog or whatnot. NO MATTER WHAT it will always be in english :D
Tired
Sunday, September 20, 2009, 10:21 PM
Today was spent shopping!!
I'll be leaving soon and there are a ton of things tt i need to do and prepare for when i leave. I feel so happy LEAVING. Finally some peace away frm home.
Ok so the entire day day was spent shopping for coats, sweaters, gloves, beanies and more. My aunt and i walked so much and my feet are now exhausted...
Thank goodness i had a filling lunch!!
The shopping shall continue tmr.....
Friends all ard the world.
Monday, September 14, 2009, 1:29 AM
I've just realized something...
I have friends in Sweden, UK, Russia, Belgium, US...
Abt 20,000 of them r in australia.
And yet none in france.
My departure date is coming soon and the feeling of leaving has yet to kick in. Understandably its gonna be rough surviving and cutting back on food. Hopefully i'll get slimmer... But it has occurred to me that i might not be coming back. At least not for a long shot. And am i gonna be able to stand the winter?
Everyone has been giving me advice esp my parents which is understandable considering i'm leaving for Europe. Some advice is:
- its not cold until you feel the wind. That's when you'll freeze!!
- don't trust french men. they will say anything to get you to do what they want. Also don't trust the Nigerians cuz they will use you as a drug mule. Have you read the newspapers abt them??
- don't walk in dark alleyways. Stay alert.
- be careful how you spend your money. Don't anyhow spend.
Yup. That is the advice given to me by my parents. Then there are those given to me by friends who have flown there...
- OH, you have to go to Champ Eleyesse!! The shopping there is GREAT!
- You can get the cheap leather in europe. Super cheap!! Go to milan and buy better.
- The pasteries there are TO DIE FOR! Must buy as many as you can!!
And so on...
Great. Now i'm both super tempted and super scared.
ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!?!?!?!?!
So so tired...
Friday, September 11, 2009, 10:08 PM
Well, slept at 4+ wokeup at 7 today so the entire day was spent trying not to fall alseep.
Today as usual, got someone buzzing in my ear abt work AGAIN. But nevermind. Hopefully by next week i'll be able to complete everything.
OK! I've gotten a webcam and thus, able to SKYPE!! I can skype frm france!!! HAHAHAHA JOY! Hope no one steals it!!!
And my father has gotten me a camera!!! Olympus camera with 12mega pixels so i'll be sure to post more pics.
My visa has been submitted, now all i have to do is wait!!!
Oh dear.
Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 10:51 PM
I'm cutting it really really close.
I went down to the french embassy to submit my visa form and i still lacked 1 document so i need to submit it in tmr. GRRR... And in the morning, my supervisor pulls me into a meeting room for a discussion about my working ethics. She says i stay out at the receptionist desk too long to chat with the recept and it makes the company looks bad/unprofessional. Out of the entire day from 9-6 i sit on a chair immobile and i go out 2 times or 4 times to chat with hardiana for 5 mins and less and she said i can't do that??? She said someone complained to her about me always chatting with hardiana. What fucking bullshit. There was one time when i went out the recept area to celebrate andrea's (my co-worker) birthday and cuz hardiana was the recept we had no choice but to hold it there. Some asshole dip shit who was so free to go ard gossiping to others can tell my supervisor that i was so damn free. F******* get your f***** facts straight bitch.
And now moving on to calmer thoughts. COMMEX STARTS TMR!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! And since i have to submit my visa again in the morning, i can pop on over to commex :D Hopefully it won't be too crowded.. URGH. I want to get my MP3, an ipod this time... and i'm getting my very own camera!!!!!!! How fun is that?? Can take pics thoughout my trip in france :D Yes, must also remember to buy webcam!! Update the lonely people here abt my studies. (Namely my mother)
So i ran across this site and it is just so adorable!!! go to http://cuteoverload.com.
Here are some sample pics!

SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TGIF
Friday, September 4, 2009, 11:19 PM
Well, thank goodness its friday.. PHEW! So much work to do.. So from translating chinese names/company titles/company names, i now have to update a list... It has abt 4800+ contacts and i need to finish it by 30th Sept because...
I'M LEAVING FOR FRANCE!
And never coming back...
JUST KIDDING. Just tt it will take me a while before i can come back. As it is an intensive course, the holidays are quite short... Also, i had to fill out so many forms! For visa, for housing, for so many things. URGH. Been filling it out at work and trying desperately to find out how to fill out some of the forms as most of them are all in french. And not forgetting my acceptance letter. I found out not only do I have a written test, i have an ORAL TEST.
SHIT.
I always panic when i talk french.... OMGGG they might laugh me out of the exam hall... GREAT. MORE STRESS.....
I need to relax. Seriously. My french visa applications, school starting soon, work stress, everything is getting to me!!!!! I NEED TO THINK POSITIVE THOUGHTS!!!
MOVING ON. I have started to notice there are more and more ang mohs. Everywhere i turn i see at least one popping out. Granted i WORK at suntec in an US company, BUT STILL! Wait, is there a... NAH. OkOk, the point is, they are EVERYWHERE. And what's with some of the chinese people who try to imitate the way they speak, but fail miserably.
For example, this guy at work, my friends call him the slang man. I knew that he grew up in San Francisco. (Or so he claimed) but i find that the american accent on chinese men weird esp those who look damn cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeena. Dunno why also. To me it just seems like something's off. Well, this guy is just bad. His accent is like a heavy drawl. For example, think of those with the THICK AS BUTTER accent. hmm.... seriously, i DO NOT KNOW how to describe it. Its not Texan, or southern, its just those damn typical american accent which is thick. Thick as butter, pudding or whatever suits you. Its just thick. Which reminds me of a nice kaya toast from toastbox but MOVING ON.....
The way he talks to people makes me want to vomit bananas. Cuz his voice has that whiny pitch and he always likes to add a "Like" to his like every like other sentance. Like omg, that is like so damn awful, like I can't stand it. TOTALLY. Once he even had the nerve to stand in front of my desk hanging his monkey arms over MY cubicle and talk to the person behind me. HOW ANNOYING IS THAT?!?! He cannot go in to talk issit? And my MP3 couldn't even drown out that whiny shit so i had increase the volume.
Oh yes, my MP3 is spoilt. Its been with me for 3 yrs and it spoils now right b4 i leave?? Fantastic.
And work! Its not so bad once you get to know more people which i did! We went to this vietnam restaurant and the food was DELICIOUS. REALLY REALLY GOOD. NO JOKE. Cheryl are you reading this??

FAIL SHOT

BEST
There's so many people leaving for all the different countries!! Sigh... the girl sitting next to me is leaving for Glasgow. LUCKY LUCKY!!! And then my other friend is leaving for Boston. SIGH. EVERYONE'S LEAVING! Me and lynette decided to meet up with Kea for dinner. Little did we know she was vegetarian. HAIZ. I felt so bad cuz Kea only took the vegetables and the mushrooms. Also the egg sushi. She loved the egg sushi. She also managed to whip up her own sauce which smelt really good. So as usual we ate ALOT. Or should i say it was only me?

See the extent of our greediness...

Ahh, you can see my bowl was filled with sausages.I took so many it filled the whole bowl and I ate it all. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
My poor shirt was splattered with butter all over.. and i smelled funny. So thanks to lynette for the ride half-way home!!!! (Not being sarcastic here) Plus my pants were so tight i had to loosen the belt. Which was the exact same thing that happened to me when i went out with HJ. Should have worn what i worn then. The long flowy dress allowed me to eat as much as i want without sacrificing the need to look thin. I'm fat and happy!
Today i almost fell asleep at the desk. So to keep me awake, i decided to take some photos!
My daily ritual:
1. Get breakfast! : Could be from starbucks (I'd pop downstairs to get a bagel with cream cheese. MMMMMMMMMMMM), or i'd go to the crystal jade bake shop, or the mcdonalds, or the burger king, or the food republic's you tiao/red bean pancake, or the food court at the basement or any other food shop on the way in.
Let us pause for a moment to realise why suntec is not the best environment for me to work in.
2. Go toilet then OFF TO PANTRY TO GET MY FREE DRINKS. I'd usually get a cup with a spoon, milo packet or orange juice.
3. Go back to my cubicle to set up my laptop and plug in the stuff. Drink & eat while waiting.

4. Around 10+ (assuming i came on time, which rarely happens) I make my green tea with 1 small packet of sugar mixed with cold and hot water. Rest of the day mix green tea with cold water.

5. When i'm bored, i'll walk out to the receptionist desk area to talk with Hardiana and take my usual collection of sweets if the auntie managed to top up the sweet bowl.
I prefer to take the "good" ones. I typically take the grape, mint, strawberry, and the polo sweets. Today's one was a good haul. Took 2 full handfuls.
My cube. 'Nuff said.
Today was officially angel's last day... So i read this review in 8 days abt this new restaurant called Cafeteria. They said it wasn't bad plus it was quite affordable so we decided to head there.

My Lasagne

The deco was alright but please DO NOT EAT FROM THERE. The food was medicore, the service was lousy. The soups we had was so bad. Angel had the mushroom soup and it tasted like shit. Mine took so damn long to come. Then some staff was so rude. See the man standing up in the grey shirt behind the 2 woman in the photo?? He came to our table to take the chair and as he was pulling the chair away from us he said "Ladies can i have this chair please thank you..." He didn't even wait for an answer. HOW RUDDDDDE. My friend's bag was still on the chair and he took it and put it on the table before he even asked us if he could take the chair. Then when we ended the meal, my friend hadn't even finished drinking her water before they cleared it off. We were quite pissed at the end and decided to never go there again. Lousy service with lousy food. BLAH.
And that's all. :D
So not my day
Tuesday, September 1, 2009, 8:45 PM
I guess now tt i'm using the com in my room again means i can blog more!
Today's not my day.
Just found out i'll be receiving abt 600 euros a mth staying there.
The school hasn't sent the official letter which means.... no visa.
Have to save up like shit.
I'M ONLY GETTING 600 EUROS DAMMIT.
Well, i found out from my friend tt her bf and her spend abt 500 while in Glasgow but tt's a diff story... though it did make me feel a little better. Although, come to think of it, money is money. I should be happy that i'm even getting to GO to france. I should slap myself for being spoilt.
Then at work...
TELEMARKETING.
I hate to do that. Plus the list was 4800+++++ names long. STUPID. I HATE THIS.
Then someone has to come and tell me i can't talk to the receptionist. I can't work OT. BLAH BLAH BLAH.
I think the only good thing is the facebook app Restaurant city.
