You should watch the video.. It talks about some interesting things about RP.
1) Timing
Year 1: 8.30
Year 2: 9.15
Year 3: 10.00
2) Curriculum
attachment in final yr & Yr 1 modules will change reduced to 8
Each diploma intro core discipline (unique to the school)
UT timing changing. Making it longer
3) Own students talking crap about RP.
Hmm... let me see.... Of course, all these changes are made after i graduate of course.
Why didn't they manage to do these sooner??/ Esp for the fucking UT which i have virtually no time to complete it. Well, in yr 1 that is...
And as for the curriculum, they are finally changing it. Thank effing goodness... Stupid school. I hate it. Esp STA modules... NOT CHALLENGING. Want an example??
MODULE: Interactive Entertainment
A VERY good example of why the module SUCKS.
This is what the Faci had to say about that day's problem:
In this week’s lesson, we explored the satisfying power to take meaningful action and see the results of our decisions and choices as players. Using the game as a launch pad, you were tasked to explore mechanical gears that made the game work out.
This feeling of empowerment that comes from being able to take actions in the (virtual) world whose effects relate to the player’s intention. It depends on what’s going on in the interactor’s head, on what’s communicated between the technical system and the person, not only on technical facts like counting the number of system actions that are available at each moment.
One such mechanic is the partial transformation of the game into a theatrical-like play, where the players’ roles have evolved from a token to dynamic scriptwriters and actors. Each level of evolution is governed not solely by the player’s decision making process, but by game progression and judgments based on other players’ decisions as well.
WOW... sounds so cheem right?? Now, what could we have possibly done that could possibly be so darn meaning ful that made me learn SO MUCH about games in general??
We played cluedo. Over and over again.
OH YES. Then, what did we do after that?
We talked about how it engaged players.
Fan-fucking-tastic.
No wonder i don't show up for lessons.
And yes people. This was what i spent ONE WHOLE DAY DOING. SOLVING A PROBLEM THAT HAS ADDLED THE ENTIRE WORLD FOR CENTURIES. SOLVING A PROBLEM IN THE WORKFORCE THAT HAS PLAGUED GAME MAKERS FOR CENTURIES ON END.
BY PLAYING CLUEDO. REPEATEDLY.
Isn't that great?? I find that my brain cells have been slowly dying off one by one million ever since i entered this school. Now, another thing that the principal addressed was....
Own students talking crap about RP.
Well, why not? If there was a problem which we might feel strongly about it, won't we want to voice our opinion about it? And i know change takes time but this is ridiculous. It took 6 years or more for the students to complain to finally get their voices heard this year?
Sigh, whatever it is, i'm graduating soon.. Hopefully. I hope i don't fail in one of the classes... :D
